The Japanese Spa- and Conference Hotel just outside Stockholm in Sweden has been awarded Best Luxury Resort Spa in Europe by World Luxury Spa Awards.

On July 14th, participants from the World Luxury Spa & Restaurant Awards gathered at the magnificent

Galgorm Resort & Spa in Northern Ireland for the annual event, recognising and celebrating their success for exceptional service in the luxury wellness and fine dining industries.

-It is a great honour for us at Yasuragi to receive such a prestigious price. Especially as we on the 1st of January this year reopened our Spa Hotel after eight months of refurbishment. We now invite our guests to an entirely new Japanese bath focusing on experience, recovery and inspiration. Our hope is that we now, even more can reach out to spa- and business guests all over Europe, says Mr Jimmy Myhrinder, Spa Manager at Yasuragi.

The new spa is created by a Swedish team of architects by name DAP. After an extensive study tour to Japanese onsens the result is a asymmetric version of a Japanese emperor’s courtyard, with a large swimming-pool as its architectural heart. Several small concrete huts, with trellis-clad components, were created around the pool for different purposes. The experience of cold and warm are constantly in focus, everything from salt steam sauna to carbonated bath, rain showers and alpine tub.

-Winning awards is great, but can never be the main goal. Attention to what is being done through the brand and reaching out to more people in our world is however important when the brand’s biggest driving force is to make people feel good. When we feel good, it’s easier to do good for others and the environment. Thank you very much to the jury of the World Luxury Spa & Restaurant Awards, our guests and, above all, Yasuragi’s amazing team members who create harmony and mindfulness for guests and colleagues every day Mrs Sunniva Fallan Röd, CEO of Yasuragi concludes.

Over 200 guests from 42 countries across the globe attended this unforgettable occasion filled with opulence, glitz and glamour.

Voting is based on service excellence and is cast by spa guests. Spas will receive voting information and will be required to conduct voting campaigns in order to promote their participation amongst guests. The Awards judging criteria is purely based upon service excellence. The objectives of the awards is to provide luxury spas with well-deserved recognition based upon votes from guests, to giving staff the recognition they deserve and improving staff moral and to ultimately raise service standards within the luxury spa industry.
